These terms govern access to and use of the SaccoBox platform, member app and related services provided by Sora Hub Technologies Ltd to SACCOs, their members, staff and authorized users.

Last Updated: 6 June 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SaccoBox, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the platform on behalf of a SACCO, employer, company or other institution, you confirm that you are authorized to use the service on its behalf.

These terms apply together with any signed agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, quotation, subscription schedule, implementation agreement or service order between Sora Hub Technologies Ltd and the SACCO.

2. Description of Service

SaccoBox is a SACCO core banking platform that supports member registration, savings and deposits, loans, front-office (FOSA) tellering, employer check-off, dividends, accounting, compliance, reporting and a member app.

The platform may include web dashboards, mobile applications, support tools, reports, integrations, data export features and role-specific user portals depending on the modules enabled for a SACCO.

3. Account Access and Responsibilities

3.1 User accounts

Users must provide accurate information when creating or updating accounts. Each user is responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for activities performed under their account.

3.2 SACCO administrator responsibilities

SACCO administrators are responsible for assigning appropriate user roles, reviewing user access, disabling accounts for former staff or unauthorized users, and ensuring that SACCO users follow internal governance and approval procedures.

3.3 Security settings

Where available, SACCOs may enable additional security options such as two-factor authentication, role restrictions, approval workflows or account controls. Users must not bypass security measures or share accounts.

4. Data Ownership and Use

Data entered by or on behalf of a SACCO remains the data of that SACCO, subject to applicable law and contractual obligations. Sora Hub Technologies Ltd processes such data to provide, secure, maintain, support and improve SaccoBox.

SACCOs may request data downloads, exports, account review or account deletion subject to legal, accounting, audit, backup, contractual and operational requirements.

5. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to misuse SaccoBox. Prohibited activities include:

  • using the platform for unlawful, fraudulent or unauthorized purposes;
  • attempting to access data, modules or accounts without permission;
  • sharing login credentials or impersonating another user;
  • uploading malicious code, attempting to disrupt the system or bypass security controls;
  • entering false, misleading or harmful records intentionally;
  • using the platform to violate the rights, privacy or confidentiality of members or third parties.

6. SACCO Data Accuracy

SaccoBox provides tools for recording, reviewing and reporting data, but the SACCO is responsible for ensuring that information entered by its users is accurate, authorized and properly reviewed. This includes member records, deposits, loan approvals, interest and fee settings, teller entries, check-off schedules, dividend computations and accounting entries.

7. Payments, Subscriptions and Service Scope

Fees, subscription terms, implementation costs, support scope, training requirements and payment schedules are agreed separately through quotations, invoices, service agreements or other written arrangements. Access to paid modules may depend on payment status and the agreed scope of service.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, taxes, payment transaction charges, SMS charges, third-party integration fees, field visit costs and custom development work may be charged separately.

8. Member App

The SaccoBox member app lets members sign in with a one-time code, view balances and statements and make payments. A member is responsible for keeping their phone and one-time codes private and for reporting a lost or changed phone number to their SACCO promptly.

9. Security and Support

Sora Hub Technologies Ltd applies reasonable security and operational measures, including secure access, role-based permissions, audit logs, backups and support procedures. However, users and SACCOs also play a critical role by protecting passwords, reviewing access levels, training staff and reporting suspicious activity.

Support may be provided through phone, WhatsApp, email, remote connection tools, documentation, refresher training or field support depending on the agreement and issue type.

10. Third-Party Services and Integrations

SaccoBox may integrate with or rely on third-party services such as hosting providers, DNS/security providers, SMS providers, payment processors, email services, analytics tools, remote support tools and other technology providers. Use of such third-party services may also be subject to their terms and availability.

11. Confidentiality

Each party should handle confidential information responsibly. Sora Hub Technologies Ltd will not intentionally disclose private SACCO data, member records or financial information except as required to provide the service, comply with law, support authorized users or meet agreed reporting requirements.

12. Intellectual Property

The SaccoBox software, design, workflows, source code, documentation, branding and related intellectual property belong to Sora Hub Technologies Ltd or its licensors. SACCOs receive the right to use the platform according to the agreed service terms, but do not acquire ownership of the software unless expressly agreed in writing.

13. Service Availability and Changes

We work to keep SaccoBox available and reliable, but service may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, upgrades, hosting issues, internet problems, security incidents, third-party failures or events outside our reasonable control. We may update, improve, modify or retire features where necessary to improve the platform or maintain security.

14. Suspension and Termination

Access may be suspended or terminated where there is non-payment, misuse, security risk, breach of these terms, unlawful activity, termination of the relevant SACCO agreement or a request by an authorized SACCO administrator. After termination, data access, export and retention will be handled according to the applicable agreement, law and backup processes.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sora Hub Technologies Ltd will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill or loss arising from inaccurate data entered by users, third-party service failures or unauthorized use caused by compromised user credentials.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith discussion. If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it may be handled through the dispute resolution process provided in the applicable agreement or through competent courts or tribunals in Kenya.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of SaccoBox after updates means the user accepts the updated terms, subject to any signed agreement that applies to the SACCO.
